Cindy's Story
I can hardly believe it's been 30 years since high school days. I've been blessed with a wonderful husband and have been married for 27 amazing years. He was my college sweetheart and swept me off my feet. We have two great kids - a beautiful daughter and a wonderful son, both of whom are in college.
I've worked in the telecommunications industry for 25 years and have been very fortunate to telecommute for the past 11 years. I love working at home. My hours are flexible and it was great to be around when my kids were young.
I'm very close to my circle of friends and family. They've always been there for me and continue to bless my life with their companionship and support. Our gatherings range from BBQs, to shopping, to going to the movies. Both my kids work at theaters, so we get to see free movies all the time - what a great benefit.
We're a cat family. We've had cats in 1982 - all Siamese. We currently have a 12 year old lilac point, and two 1 year old seal points. They are so cute, loving, and entertaining, and the morning greetings of...Expand for more
purrs and meows are the greatest.
My most active involvement is with my church, which is my home away from home. I love volunteering for activities with children, and count myself blessed to see the smiles on their faces. I normally serve as a VBS teacher, but this year I'm in charge of the whole program. My organizational skills have truly been put to the test.
Our family has been very fortunate to travel to many fabulous places from mountains, to beaches, to Mexico, to Canada, and many places in between. The beaches are great, but I am so mesmerized by the beauty of the mountains.
The years have brought challenges, too. Corporate downsizing has played roles in job changes for both my hubby & me. Our children are our greatest joy and when they've been hurt and hospitalized, the heartache is so heavy. Sting rays and brown recluse spiders are definitely not my friends. With God's help, I have overcome obstacles and grown stronger in faith.
It's been an amazing 30 years since high school, and I look forward to what the future holds ahead.
